Asian Fans (Éventails Asiatiques)

I did this song 3 years ago, had posted it on Soundcloud, and now Vietnam TV has chosen it for a 55 minutes documentary.

As it is about serenity, I had suggested that it was about time Vietnam showed the world how it has recovered after the 30 years bloodbath. The filmmaker Manouchehr Abrontan is doing a video for it with the material he filmed around Vietnam and a dance company working on the piece (the pictures here).

Việt Nam tim tôi, is a documentary film about Vietnamese women from wartime up to today. They share their lives experiences and contributions in the Vietnamese society. A vivid portrait of the women  who talk about their happiness, sadness, conflicts, development and future.

At the moment runs a trailer on Vietnam TV every day and the documentary should be aired later this month. I´ll publish it (possibly) & the date of the broadcast asap.

I´ve remixed the piece and released it as a single on Bandcamp. As there might very well be other works for them (...Mekong Delta?), it might be the first piece of a complete CD with a more Asian flair.

This is a 5/4 ballet piece about serenity, for Modern Broken Consort, with viola da gamba, Tibetan bowls, marimba, glockenspiel, gamelan, hang, surdo, chimes, claves, finger snaps & electronics.
